Axis Deer
The Axis deer's unique bright reddish coat marked with white spots makes it one of the most beautiful of all deer species. They prefer open areas, such as grasslands, in tandem with nearby forest areas for foraging. Breeding once yearly, these animals can be expected to have one or two offspring per year. The typical gestation period for the Axis deer is 7.5 months.
