Markhors are native to Pakistan and are known for their snake-like horns, which can reach up to 63 inches in length for males and 10 inches for females. The largest of the wild goat species, Markhors’ gestational period is approximately 155 days, ending with one to two young. They thrive in mountainous habitats and can be found throughout western Asia, where the females live in large herds together, joined by the males only for breeding season from April to June.
