Nyala
The Nyala is an elegant and rather attractively marked antelope, with a grayish to chestnut-brown coat, and white chevron between the eyes. The coat of the Nyala is smooth and glossy during the summer and becomes shaggier during winter months. Native to southeastern Africa, these animals prefer proximity to grassland and freshwater. Breeding peaks in the spring, and gestation lasts around eight months. The Nyala can be expected to live about 18 years in captivity.
