Springbok
Springbok are gazelle-like antelope, reddish brown in color with a pale underside. Among the top ten fastest land animals in the world, they can reach speeds up to sixty miles per hour. They are known to mate during the dry season, and birth will take place after about five and a half months, at the beginning of the wet season. Because they tend to live in herds of females, with only a few dominant males, Springbok young rely mainly on their mothers. They have a lifespan of about seven to nine years.
